Dirk R.I.P.
It is with great sadness we learned that our great blog-friend Dirk passed away this week after fighting for his life for a long time.Dirk (from Friesland, The Netherlands) was a great source when it came to music from Japan. We think he knew more about the history of of Japanese pop, folk and rock than any average citizen from Japan does. Thanks for all you taught us.Dirk wrote about his illness on his blog very open. We knew the chemo therapy workt well. it came as a shock to read his mother's words that he had gone.Dirk, we hope you may find peace wherever you are,For those who want to want to contribute to his memorial : go here.

thanx for sharing this sad news, it makes the www seem a more human placei downloaded some very obscure & unusual stuff i never would have been exposed to via his websitei lost track of it in a stream of links, but you reminded me of this kind & open hearted strangerthe world has lost a unique individual with a lot of knowledge...who was willing to share...R I P
